When he’s not working at CityMD, Dr. Shami likes skiing, rock climbing, boating, scuba diving, and enjoying Central Park. He’s even a member of the Central Park Conservatory, supporting our city’s largest and most beautiful park!
Dr. Shami is also a very charitable person! He is involved with NOVA Hope of Haiti, a charity focused on delivering basic health care to impoverished regions of Haiti, and The Littlest Lamb, a charity devoted to developing orphanages in Egypt. The Littlest Lamb provides care for many of the displaced and forgotten children in the region. Don’t forget his dog, Symba! His boxer is a certified therapy dog that travels with Dr. Shami’s wife, Tamryn, to a facility for the disabled in Brooklyn.
You might catch Dr. Shami and his wife at Gemma, in the Bowery Hotel, his favorite restaurant this summer, or enjoying the park near his home in Columbus Circle, and when you see him be sure to say hi!
